Post of the Day

I've been sick today, so I haven't done much. I pretty much lived on the couch and watched the commentary on my Invader Zim DVDs, otherwise known as five different crew members talking over each other. There is some real information, and some funny stuff, but some of the people there hadn't been involved with and therefor hadn't even seen the episodes before commenting on them, and the blunt way they handled these facts was pathetically hillarious. I watched this for about four or five hours.

Alien Holds Up Poorly

I just watched Alien last night, and was amazed at how boring it was. Don't you remember when this film scared the crap out of you? Now it's just dull.

Noggin' it Up in Rutabegese Coming Soon, Sicko Review, Not Really

I've officially finished with Billee and Frank, so now it's time for "Noggin' It Up in Rutabegese" It features a guy named "Pandybatter" who is very angry, constantly drinks egg nog, is a chef and occasionaly speaks rutabegese, a made up language made up of only the word rutabega, which nobody can understand. His catch phrase is Blaaaaaagggghhhhh! Here's the planned episode schedual.

Sicko Review: Coming Not So Soon

It's been like a week since I saw it, hasn't it?

Invader Zim

Yesterday, after six days of waiting, I finally got the complete series of Invader Zim on DVD. I also purchased Samurai Jack Season 4. Both shows are definately worth watching. Invader Zim is full of great random and dark humor, although the episodes I've been watching haven't been as good as the first few, which are gut wrenchingly hilarious. Check out Zim's awesome opening title sequence.

Kung-Fu Panda

Here is the trailer for Dreamworks' latest "Rip off a spoof by adding animals" movie.

As advertised, Jack Black stars in this movie, but from what you can see of him here, they seem to be paying more for the name than the actor. He sounds like every other movie loser character, no matter which celebrity plays him. Some fans might recognise Jack Black, but the only reason I knew that this usually funny, energetic actor is in this is that the put his name on the posters and in the trailer.

Whether you like him or not, Micheal Moore is a true patriot. He recognises the flaws in his country, but instead of moving to countries like Britain or Canada, which he so clearly views as way ahead of us, he uses his talents to help solve the problems in our society. It's true! The Daily Cynic skipped a day! It's because I couldn't log on somehow. Mabey the email service was broken and it couldn't access my account. It may be technology's fault, but without it I couldn't have this blog.

The Dumb Adventures of Billee and Frank

This is an animated show that I created. Just so you know, the animation and "art" is extremely simple and bad. If I figure out how to, and get around to it, I'll post it here. Here is the premise and episode guide.
Billee is a short, excentric professor who is obsessed with sandwiches and has violent impulses which lead him to kill Frank at the end of every episode. Frank is an incredibly slow person who is inteligent, but thinks so slowly he doesn't know what to do with himself, so he hangs out with Billee.

Epsiodes
The New Kid at School/Master of Diss-Aster: Frank arrives at school and meets Billee/Frank enters in the all-school dissing contest and Billee kills all the contestants.

Ninja vs. Pirate/Frank's Screenplay: Billee and Frank watch a battle on Billee's fight simulator/Frank writes a screenplay and attempts to get it produced in the modern world of crappy filmmaking.

Homicidal Frank/Billee's Betrayal: Frank goes on a killing spree/Billee goes off with a Russian exchange student, leaving Frank to figure out what to do with himself.

Please for the Love of God Rid the World of Terrible Cat Jokes!

Yeah, you know what I mean. Can we once have a single movie or cartoon featuring a cat without a purrrrrfect joke? And how about "The cat's out of the bag" or "A Cat-astrophe" come on entertainers, you can do better than that!

How George W. Bush ruined my patriotic spirit.

They always say that you are lucky to live in America, and that the odds are that you'll end up being born to a poor family in Africa. I know that I live the good life, in a good, albeit flawed country. I feel proud of the life I live, and I wish I could feel proud of the place I live in, but it keeps getting harder and harder thanks to the man that is ruining the white house with the stench of his rotting brain: our very own, George W. Bush. When people talk so fondly of America and wear the red, white and blue colors, it makes me wonder if they know what's really going on in this nation. So yeah, I love living in America, I just hate living with the awful things that have been done in her name.

Movie Review Shrek the Third: Score: 4 points out of 10

I decided to post this review to follow up my last post. I only recently saw Shrek the Third, because I didn't bother to watch it in theaters and add money to the ridiculously large box office that this film undeservedly hauled in. Although I like the first two movies in this series, the third film is tired, dull, and lacking in any trace of humor, life, coherent plot, purpose, actor enthusiasm, or anything that a good movie should have. The plots of all Shrek movies are fairly simple bring someone back to save the kingdom stories, so without any humor, this is an empty shell of a film.

The Search for Creative Ideas or the Lack Thereof

Ever since the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter became huge successes, there has been an endless stream of imitators trying to cash in on those ideas. However, what those immatators and the people who make them fail to realise that some of the biggest draws of the films being imitated are origional ideas. Let's take Shrek as an example. Shrek was successful because of it's irreverent humor that was so uncommon at the time. However, because it was so succesful, it spawned a slew of immatators, which made irreverent humor mainstream. Because of that, Shrek's new ideas became harder and harder to find and exploit, and by the time Shrek the Third came around, the Shrek well of humor was dry. This may be why P.I.X.A.R is so successful. All of there ideas are new, and the almost never do sequels.

Introducing my blog! The Daily Cynic. I'm inroducing my blog after the first post so that the intro can be the second post. You didn't seriously think that I'd go around posting stories about mac and cheese did you?
